At today's New York International Auto Show, BMW's Mini brand
announced pricing for the high-performance John Cooper Works models.
The standard hardtop will run $29,200 and the extended-length Clubman
will start at $31,450.
Both of
those prices include the $650 transportation fee as well as three
years' scheduled maintenance. Mini said that the JCWs will go on sale
in mid-summer.
Powered by a 208 horsepower four-cylinder - the same motor that's in the Mini Challenge race car - the JCWs are capable of a 147 mile-per-hour top speed. The standard model runs to 60 miles per hour in 6.2 seconds and the Clubman takes 6.5 seconds to reach the same mark.
A full line of appearance and performance upgrades are available, though unique styling bits and Brembo brakes will be standard on the JCWs.
