WIDESTAR Version and Tuning with up to 462 hp / 340 kW

The Mercedes GL-Class begins a new chapter with a facelift and BRABUS offers an extensive customization program for the largest Mercedes SUV. It includes the stunning WIDESTAR wide version, engine tuning including the BRABUS 6.1 displacement engine with 462 hp (456 bhp) / 340 kW of power, custom-tailored wheels with diameters of up to 23 inches and exclusive interior upgrades.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR wide version, manufactured in OEM quality from Pur-R-Rim plastics, lends all GL-Class models an even more stunning appearance. The elegantly curved fender flares add five centimeters (two inches) to the width of the SUV.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR front apron and its large air dams give the 4×4 an even more striking face, and reduce aerodynamic lift on the front axle at high speed. Integrated LED daytime running lights and auxiliary high beams and fog lamps improve active safety further.

The BRABUS rocker panels don’t just look great, they also make entering and exiting the vehicle in the dark safer thanks to their integrated entrance lights.

The rear view of the wide version is dominated by the roof spoiler and the new rear apron custom-tailored to the wider fenders. The new bumper features an integrated diffuser, courtesy lights that illuminate the ground behind the vehicle and cutouts for the tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR version also creates room for three-piece BRABUS Monoblock E PLATINUM EDITION wheels in size 11Jx23. These nine-spoke wheels have a forged high-gloss-polished drop center and can be fitted with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA high-performance street tires up to size 305/30 R 23.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR can also be equipped with 21-inch Monoblock VI or F wheels or with 22-inch wheels from the Monoblock VI, E, G, Q and S design families.

BRABUS offers powerful tuning for all GL engines, all backed by the incomparable BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles (see BRABUS warranty conditions as of November 2006) that sets the standard for the entire tuning industry. All BRABUS engines are lubricated exclusively with ARAL high-performance motor oil.

For the gasoline-powered V8 engines of the GL 450 and GL 500 models the top-of-the-line option is the BRABUS 6.1 displacement engine with a rated power output of 462 hp (456 bhp) / 340 kW and a peak torque of 615 Nm (453 lb-ft). Equipped with this engine the 4×4 accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 255 km/h (158 mph).

The BRABUS ECO PowerXtra tuning kits were developed for the especially popular common-rail turbodiesel engines. The BRABUS D6 (III) module bumps rated power output of the GL 350 CDI to 272 hp (268 bhp) / 200 kW and peak torque to 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) at just 1,600 rpm.

Rated power output of the GL 450 CDI with BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D8 (III) tuning jumps from standard 306 hp (302 bhp) / 225 kW to 350 hp (344 bhp) / 257 kW at just 3,800 rpm. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 700 Nm to 800 Nm (516 to 590 lb-ft). Performance is on an accordingly high level: The tuned GL 450 CDI accelerates from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 7.1 seconds, half a second faster than the production car. Top speed increases from 230 to 240 km/h (144 to 150 mph).

The sporty performance of the tuned SUV’s is ideally combined with professional BRABUS suspension tuning. A special module for the AIRMATIC air suspension of the GL-Class lowers the ride height by some 30 millimeters (1.2 inches). This measure not only benefits the looks of the GL. The lowered center of gravity also results in even sportier and safer on-road handling.

To further optimize active safety BRABUS also offers various high-performance brake systems for the Mercedes SUV. The largest version for the GL features 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and vented and cross-drilled 380 x 36 millimeter (15.0 x 1.4 inches) discs on the front axle. The rear axle stops on 355 x 28 mm (14.0 x 1.1 inches) brake discs and six-piston fixed calipers.

Individual interior exclusivity is also a BRABUS top priority for the five-door SUV. The company upholstery shop transforms customer requests into masterfully crafted fully leather interiors made from especially soft and breathable Mastik leather and Alcantara.

The BRABUS program also includes numerous striking interior accessories. The list of available options ranges from scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo to sporty aluminum components such as pedals and door-lock pins, to an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel. Especially sporty highlights are added with carbon-fiber elements in ‘checkered-flag’ design. Also available are precious-wood inlays in any desired color and with various surface finishes.

Multimedia is another BRABUS domain. Special consoles for the back of the GL-Class front seats each house a seven-inch LCD screen and a DVD player. These consoles are optionally available with an electrically deployed table.

The multimedia equipment can be expanded further. The expansion options include larger screens deployed from the headliner, an on-board PC system with ultra-fast Internet connection and an MP3 player that can hold more than 5,000 songs.

555 hp / 408 kW, 320 km/h Top Speed and Exclusive Accessories

Even more power and exclusive accessories for the latest top-of-the-line E-Class model, the E 63 AMG: With BRABUS B63 S engine tuning, power output of both sedan and wagon jumps to 555 hp (547 bhp) / 408 kW and their top speed jumps to 320 km/h (200 mph). BRABUS also offers exclusive accessories such as sporty yet elegant aerodynamic-enhancement components, custom-tailored tire/wheel combinations up to 20 inches in diameter and custom interior options.

The fast-revving 6.3-liter V8 becomes even more powerful with the BRABUS B63 S performance kit. The conversion consists of two sport air filters, free-flow metal catalysts and newly programmed engine electronics. The tuning kit bumps power output of the engine from standard 525 hp (517 bhp) / 386 kW by 30 hp (30 bhp) / 22 kW. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 630 to 650 Nm (464 to 479 lb-ft) at 5,400 rpm. BRABUS recommends fully synthetic ARAL high-performance motor oil.

Equipped with the BRABUS B63 S kit, the sprint time from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) is shortened to 4.3 seconds and in combination with the BRABUS V/max unit top speed jumps to up to 320 km/h (200 mph), depending on the speed rating of the selected tire/wheel combination.

To transfer the increased power to the road with as little slip as possible BRABUS offers a limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent for the E 63 AMG.

Minimizing aerodynamic lift is essential in a car as fast as this one. The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop aerodynamic-enhancement components that are as stunning as they are effective. These components are manufactured from clear-coated carbon fiber. The production front apron of sedan and wagon can be upgraded with a spoiler lip. The aerodynamics of the sedan’s rear can be further improved with a diffuser and a rear spoiler.

On the front axle BRABUS aluminum sport fenders with lateral air outlets improve venting of the wheel houses and add a decidedly sporty note to the car’s appearance.

BRABUS also offers custom-tailored tire/wheel combinations for all E63 models. They are available with diameters of 18, 19 and 20 inches. The largest homologated version features Monoblock VI, E, Q or S wheels in size 9Jx20 on the front axle and in sizes 9.5Jx20 or 10.5Jx20 in back. They are fitted with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA high-performance tires in size 245/30 ZR 20 in front and up to size 295/25 ZR 20 on the rear axle.

Exclusive BRABUS-refined interiors are also available for the Mercedes E 63 AMG. The list of accessories ranges from stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo to a speedometer with 360-km/h (225-mph) dial. The company upholstery shop creates luxury interiors from a combination of especially soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara to each customer’s exact specifications. The perfect complements are precious-wood and carbon-fiber inlays in any desired color and with various surface finishes.

The Carrera was held all through Mexico along the famous Panamerican Highway and supported by the Mexican government. An especially notable race took place in 1952. Mercedes were only successful in the legendary Mercedes 300 SL with wingdoors after a fright. The co-driver was hit and injured by a low flying vulture. As a result the Mercedes mechanics built a grid in front of the windscreen to prevent such a thing happening again. A curious win which is spoken of even today.

The story is so well known to the KICHERER engineers that they built – and even named – the new AMG Mercedes SLS in honour of this sporty example. That‘s why as hommage the abbreviation CP can be again found in the type description.

True to the firm‘s philosophy to only make conclusive additions to the basic AMG form and to keep the lines of a vehicle an in essence even more sporty version of the wingdoored car was developed. Especially the aerodynamics were able to enjoy a final high class polish. In addition the developers conceived and mounted a front spoiler lip, a roof …, a rear diffusor and larger air intakes to better cool the 6.3 litre V8 engine. All new elements developed by KICHERER are, of course, made of high class Carbon.

An immediate eye-catcher on the front of the SLS is the large handcrafted frontgrill made of stainless steel, which is optionally also available in a discreet gold tone. The optics of the vertical struts are meant to remind one of the window grill on the original Pan-American vehicle. A further highlight on the sportscar are the 3 part 20 inch RS-1 lightweight wheels. The classic double spoke design harmonises perfectly with the equally classic sportscar silhouette of the KICHERER SLS 63 CP.

At the rear of the vehicle KICHERER lets the stainless steel exhaust with four oval endpipes melodiously release the exhaust gases into the air. An integrated valve control gives the driver – fitting to the occasion – the choice between a sonorous and a discreet tone.

Various performance enhancers for the 575 PS strong aggregate are optionally available but initially only on demand.

With a rated power output of 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft) this engine catapults the four-door car from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of over 370 km/h (230 mph). The exclusively appointed BRABUS E V12 is built in a limited “one of ten” edition and starts at 498,000 Euros MSRP.

BRABUS, recognized by the German Federal Vehicle Registration Agency (Kraftfahrtbundesamt) as a vehicle manufacturer, builds the new E V12 “one of ten” based on the reinforced body of the latest Mercedes E-Class.

The next evolutionary stage of the proven BRABUS SV 12 Biturbo displacement engine is called SV12 R Biturbo 800 and was developed specifically for this vehicle. The engine is implanted into the modified engine bay of the E-Class with almost surgical precision.

Displacement of the twelve-cylinder engine that usually powers the latest Mercedes 600 models is increased from standard 5.5 to 6.3 liters (336 to 384 cu. in.). The increase is affected with a special crankshaft with longer stroke, precision-balanced pistons rods and pistons with a larger diameter and an increased cylinder bore. The inner workings of the BRABUS engine are further modified with special sport camshafts and cylinder heads optimized for mixture flow.

Both the air intake and the BRABUS twin-turbo system were newly developed for this car. The latter features two custom manifolds with integrated high-performance turbochargers and four water-to-air intercoolers. The combustion air is provided by a carbon-fiber RAM-air intake system in the hood. In addition a high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts was custom-developed for the platform of the new E-Class.

New engine electronics with specially programmed mapping for injection and ignition ensure not only exemplary power yield but also compliance with the strict EURO IV emission limits. The high-tech lubricants for the entire drivetrain are supplied by technology partner ARAL.

With these modifications the engine of the BRABUS E V12 “one of ten” produces an enormous power output of 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at 5,500 rpm and an even more impressive peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft), available at a low 2,100 rpm. In the car peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a reinforced five-speed automatic transmission and a BRABUS high-performance limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent. The BRABUS E V12 comes standard with state-of-the-art driving stability programs that can be deactivated at the push of a button.

Following the tradition of the first three BRABUS E V12 sedans the 2010 edition once again delivers driving performance normally reserved for only a very few select super sports cars. The sedan, which weighs in at 1,980 kilograms (4,365 lbs), sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds. After just 9.9 seconds the four-door car reaches a speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). The 300-km/h (186-mph) mark is reached after just 23.9 seconds. Top speed is more than 370 km/h (230 mph) but is limited electronically for reasons of tire safety to 350 km/h (217 mph).

This extreme performance also places highest demands on the vehicle’s aerodynamic properties. The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop a body conversion kit made from high-strength yet especially lightweight carbon fiber. It not only adds 36 millimeters (1.4 inches) to the width of the E-Class and gives it an even more striking appearance; it also minimizes aerodynamic lift on front and rear axle.

The BRABUS front was designed to replace the original apron and provides radiators and front brakes with an optimal supply of cooling air. At the same time the sophisticated shape notably reduces aerodynamic lift on the front axle.

Air vents located behind the wheel arches were integrated into the front fenders. They are also vital to the thermal health of all components in the engine bay and help vent the front wheel houses to reduce lift on the front axle.

The rocker panels route the air stream to the rear wheel arches with minimum turbulence. The rear wheel arches of the “one in ten” edition feature special cowlings called ‘Speed Spads.’

The striking rear of the new BRABUS E V12 sets itself apart with the four characteristic tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system. Also part of the sophisticated aerodynamic-enhancement concept is the rear wing on the trunk lid and the diffuser integrated into the rear apron.

A wider track means better directional stability at high speeds. The widened fenders front and back make room for BRABUS Monoblock Q wheels in size 9.5Jx19. The high-performance tires so essential for these extreme speeds are supplied by technology partners Pirelli and YOKOHAMA. They are mounted on the front axle in size 255/35 ZR 19 and in size 285/30 ZR 19 in back.

The height-adjustable BRABUS coil-over suspension was also custom-developed for the E V12. The ride height of the suspension can be adjusted to the owner’s individual preferences. But that’s not all: Compression and rebound rates of the front and rear dampers can be adjusted in ten steps between very comfortable and extremely firm for use on the racetrack. Sport sway bars reduce body roll in fast corners.

The enormous performance of the BRABUS E V12 also places highest demands on the brakes. The high-performance sedan is equipped with 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers and vented and grooved steel brake discs measuring 380 x 37 millimeters (15.0 x 1.5 inches) on the front axle. The rear axle stops on six-piston aluminum fixed calipers gripping discs measuring 360 x 28 millimeters (14.2 x 1.1 inches). The BRABUS high-performance brake system incorporates all functions of the standard Brake Assist system of the Mercedes E-Class.

The interior of the car exudes a feeling of true exclusive luxury. The sporty-contoured custom front seats and the two rear individual seats are covered with a combination of Alcantara and black leather, smooth or perforated, as are dashboard, door trim and headliner. The entire vehicle floor is covered with square-patterned leather. It alone uses several miles of the finest thread, every inch of it sewn with utmost precision.

The ensemble is completed with matte-black carbon-fiber components for dashboard, center console and door panels. The BRABUS E V12 “one of ten” can be optionally equipped with a cell phone from premium manufacturer Vertu. This exclusive cell phone from the “Vertu Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre” limited edition of 1,500 phones features a titanium housing with the sides clad in black carbon fiber. This especially exclusive phone features 3G and quad-band technology as well as an integrated hands-free option, and represents state-of-the-art communication technology.

Only ten BRABUS E V12 sedans of the “one of ten” edition will be built by hand in a small-series production run. Alternatively the BRABUS E V12 is also offered in a version with 750 hp / 552 kW and a pointedly subtle bodywork without cowlings and rear wing.

•Carlsson boosts the E 63 AMG to 585 hp
•Entire aerodynamics pack by head designer Rolf Schepp
•Wheel design 1/5 REVO in 8.5 and 10.5×20 inches

The most dynamic business limousine by Mercedes-Benz is the E 63 AMG. The company AMG which is located in Affalterbach skilfully combines 525 hp (386 kW) with very luxurious interior equipment.

But for Carlsson this was neither dynamic nor luxurious enough. The automobile manufacturer from Merzig / Saarland presents the new E-CK63 RS based on the E 63 AMG and thereby discloses the technical possibilities.

The core part of the refinement is the entirely re-engineered V8-engine. The Carlsson engineers accomplished to boost the performance from 525 hp (386 kW) to impressive 585 hp (430 kW) without changing the cubic capacity of 6.3 litres. Also, the Mercedes specialists from Merzig increase the maximum torque from 630 to 695 Newton metres. With a perfected motor management, an optimised exhaust system and most accurate adjustments, the E-class top model by Carlsson accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in only 4.5 seconds. This is three tenths of a second less than the acceleration values of the E 63 AMG.

The head designer Rolf Schepp transferred the performance of the car to its appearance. His complete aerodynamics package containing front skirt, extended wings, side mouldings and rear skirt reveals the power of the Carlsson E-class at first sight. All of these components are made of polyurethane (PU-RIM) which guarantees perfect fit and highest stability. At the same time all aerodynamics components render an increasing downforce during rising speeds and therefore ensure the optimal power transmission onto the road and safety even in the limit range. The carbon diffuser grabs the stainless steel end pipes of the exhaust system on both sides and perfectly finishes the visual metamorphosis. When driving calmly, the exhaust system contains itself in a pleasant way, but once the driver accelerates, it presents a powerful sound backdrop which ideally matches the driving characteristics.

But Carlsson does not only enhance the performance and improves the aerodynamics.

The revolutionary refinement of the E 63 AMG also shows in the new wheel design. With the Carlsson wheel 1/5 REVO in 8.5 and 10.5×20 inches, the automobile manufacturer fits a trend-setting, one-piece light alloy wheel.

The wheel has five double spokes, one is painted in matt black and the others sparkle with a high-gloss polished surface and are aimed at the self-confident driver.

The refinement of the strongest E-class is perfected with the interior. There, Carlsson uses leather and ultrasuede and therefore creates an enormously luxurious atmosphere. Not only the seats, but also the steering wheel, the automatic gearstick and the insides of the doors are lined with the most delicate materials. Carlsson sets highlights with aluminium applications such as the door lock studs, the pedals and the foot rest. Another eye-catcher are the illuminated floor mats with an embedded, white illuminated Carlsson logo.

With the E-CK63 RS Carlsson in every respect presents a refined E-class. The Mercedes expert increases the athleticism, luxury and individualisation of the strongest business limousine. In addition, Carlsson confirms the renowned quality with a three-year Carlsson warranty for its own works.

For many years Kicherer has been in the absolute top class of Mercedes tuners and with its own “Supersport Performance Paket” for the C63 AMG the tuners from Stockach have made their position even more secure. Developed for the sports-minded driver Kicherer guarantees the sheer pleasure of sports driving along with the highest level of comfort!

Carbon Paradise!

As to be expected Kicherer doesn’t solely focus on tuning but rather on discrete changes which not only look good but also possess aerodynamic functions. Thus the chassis was refined in every sense of the word as one wasn’t not stingy with the sinfully expensive carbon fibre here, in fact just the opposite was the case The tuners from Stockach gave the C63 AMG a carbon grill at the front as well as a front skirt with integrated carbon flaps and LED daylight driving lights. From the side the expanded rear wings of handmade metal, the carbon mirror covers as well as the new sideskirt with integrated carbon tubes are easily recognised. The rear was given a diffuser also made of carbon.

A few more PS than in the standard version can now be found working under the bonnet of the Kicherer C63 Supersport then thanks to improved engine electronics the C63 AMG powerhouse can provide around 550 PS and a maximum torque of 630 Nm. The removal of the senseless Vmax-block was in this instance a matter of honour. The engine itself received a cover with carbon fibre inlays. So that the performance could be perfectly brought to the asphalt surface the technicians installed a high performance limited slip differential with adjustable hardness and a variable barrier effect as well as a high performance adjustable coil over. Under the wheel arches revolve 20 inch large RS-1 forged wheels with 245 tyres at the front and 275 tyres at the rear. And with over 550 PS you naturally need appropriate deceleration and for this reason Kicherer resorted to a Brembo braking system including flexible steel cables.

For the interior of the C63 AMG the Mercedes specialist offers an ergonomic sports steering wheel in leather and carbon along with a footmat set with real leather trim.

Conclusion: Top class tuning in its purest form!

With the SLR “Desire“, FAB Design has once more demonstrated its competence in the field of high-end luxury car customisation.

From the FAB Design high-performance engine which generates an unbelievable performance of 750hp and a maximum torque of 1,080Nm to the perfectly designed FAB Design interior – nearly any relevant part of the Mercedes super sports car has been customised and brought to perfection with the highest level of technical expertise by the FAB Design specialists.

The FAB Design body which has been redesigned by the Swiss specialist for this very exquisite masterpiece is made of ultra sturdy but extremely light and precious carbon which is produced in an autoclave – as is the case in aerospace industry and in Formula 1 – and in accordance with highest quality standards. At several exposed spots, the material is even visible since it has been clear-varnished in order to set spectacular accents.

Apart from the front and rear fenders, it also comprises new and exclusive FAB Design side skirts with special recesses for the FAB Design high-performance sports exhaust system whose pipes come out on the vehicle’s sides as is the case with the standard SLR.

The completely redesigned motor sports front apron as well as the reshaped bonnet which is adapted to the style of the new front side and to the wider fenders are further exclusive FAB Design highlights.

Even though, compared to the standard SLR, the vehicle has gained considerably in width, once again, the FAB Design specialists have succeeded in creating an absolutely harmonious silhouette.

This is the reason why the FAB Design specialists had the idea of creating something very special for the vehicle’s rear end.

The rear panel, completely redesigned by FAB Design, frames a huge diffuser which reduces the lift force. At the same time, the optionally available FAB Design rear wing spoiler increases the downforce at the rear axle without affecting the functionality of the brake assist inside the rear lid.

The result is a considerable improvement of driving dynamics and, thus, also of the driving safety at high and peak speeds which the FAB Design “Desire” will reach in the twinkling of an eye thanks to its enormous engine performance. The FAB Design specialists have achieved a further significant improvement of driving characteristics by installing their special sports suspension and by equipping the vehicle with huge forged FAB Design 20“ wheels which are provided with special high-performance 265/30 ZR 20 and 325/25 ZR 20 tyres by technology partner Michelin.

In the fist place, the interior equipment impresses with the way it harmonises with the vehicle’s colour. The interior is completely composed of black FAB DESIGN leather. The specially developed red FAB Design croco-style leather sets additional stylish accents. The FAB Design interior emphasises the appearance of the “Desire” with race character and elegance.

In order to make sure that the FAB Design “Desire“ will not be taken for a toothless tiger, the FAB Design specialists have focussed all their expertise and experience on the super sports car’s powertrain.

Thanks to extensive modifications of the engine periphery and of the hard and software, the FAB Design high-performance powertrain now generates 750hp instead of the standard SLR‘s 626hp. The maximum torque has been increased from 780Nm to 1,080Nm.

The result of all those efforts: The FAB Design “Desire” reaches a regulated top speed of 310 km/h and passes the 100 km/h mark in 3.6 seconds.

This breathtaking demonstration of engine force is, of course, rounded off by the infernal sound of the FAB Design high-performance sports exhaust system‘s total number of six tailpipes.

With the SLR “Desire“, FAB Design has made another impressive statement of its special class in the field of high-end luxury car customisation.

Unfortunately, FAB Design has limited the number of vehicles strictly to 15, and, although it was shown in Geneva only, the whole production is already Sold out.

Innovative engine technology has been the mainstay of BRABUS product portfolio for more than three decades. The new BRABUS ML 63 Biturbo, based on the Mercedes AMG ML 63, celebrates its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2009. It sets new standards for SUV performance and styling. The new BRABUS B63 Biturbo 6.3-liter V8 engine produces 650 hp (641 bhp) / 478 kW and propels the 4×4 to a top speed of 310 km/h (194 mph). In addition to a superior engine the new BRABUS ML 63 sets itself apart from the rest with the sporty yet elegant WIDESTAR package, forged 23-inch wheels and an exclusive interior trimmed out with leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber. The BRABUS ML 63 Biturbo starts at 190,602 Euros MSRP.

The BRABUS engineers spent some two years on the development and testing of the fast-revving engine with twin turbochargers. The newly developed turbocharger system of the eight-cylinder engine represents high-tech par excellence. Custom exhaust manifolds were developed for both cylinder banks. These OEM-quality-cast manifolds feature integrated turbine housings and bypass valves. For maximum response at low engine speeds the chargers are comparatively small. To avoid negative effects on the system from excessive exhaust-gas pressures the manifolds are designed to utilize the exhaust from only three of the four cylinders on each side of the engine V for driving the turbochargers.

Even the choice of turbochargers was unconventional: Normally two right-turning turbochargers are used in twin-turbo V-engines. Because the inlet port of right-turning turbocharger is located on the right side, engineers would have to compromise on the optimal exhaust-gas routing on the right side of the engine. To avoid any compromises the BRABUS developers equip the B63 Biturbo system with left-turning turbocharger on the right side. This turbocharger was custom-developed for this engine and ensures optimal gas flow and perfect exhaust dynamics.

The twin-turbo system further includes a large intercooler, a dual-flow intake manifold with cast-in BRABUS Biturbo logo, and high-performance free-flow metal catalysts for efficient exhaust-gas purification.

Forged BRABUS pistons provide a charger-friendly compression ratio of 9.0:1. The engine is controlled by custom-tailored engine electronics with precision-matched mapping for ignition, injection and the electronic BRABUS boost-pressure control. That guarantees not just optimal power yield but also exemplary low emissions in accordance with the EURO IV norm. Like all BRABUS engines the B63 Biturbo is lubricated exclusively with ARAL high-performance motor oil.

The high-end B63 Biturbo engine costs 69,800 Euros and offers power on a level previously unknown in the SUV world. With a rated power output of 650 hp (641 bhp) / 478 kW at just 6,200 rpm the BRABUS engine surpasses its production counterpart by 140 hp (138 bhp) / 103 kW. Peak torque of the ML 63 Biturbo is 850 Nm (626 lb-ft), up from standard 630 Nm (464 lb-ft). It is available on a wide plateau between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm.

Just as unique in this vehicle category is the performance this engine delivers in concert with a modified seven-speed SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC automatic gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive: The sprint from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) is shortened by 0.8 seconds to 4.2 seconds. Top speed increases from 250 to 310 km/h (155 to 194 mph).

That type of performance potential places especially high demands on aerodynamics, tires, suspension and brakes. The BRABUS WIDESTAR version with its elegantly shaped fender flares on front and rear axle is five centimeters (two inches) wider than the production car.

The front spoiler bumper with its three strikingly styled air inlets, four auxiliary headlights and daytime running lights lends the M-Class more passing clout and minimizes lift on the front axle. The BRABUS WIDESTAR body conversion further includes door trim components and rocker panels that create a perfect transition between front and rear fender flares. The rear apron features an integrated diffuser and cutouts for the chrome-plated tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system. In combination with the rear spoiler it creates an optimal aerodynamic balance.

The wider stance not only benefits the appearance of the M-Class, it also improves handling. Three-piece BRABUS Monoblock E PLATINUM EDITION wheels are specially designed for the WIDESTAR model. They come in size 11Jx23 and feature forged wells, creating an optimal symbiosis of light-weight design and maximum mechanical strength. The new nine-spoke wheels are fitted with high-performance tires in size 315/25 R 23 front and back.

The BRABUS control module for the standard AIRMATIC air suspension lowers the ride height by some 30 millimeters (1.2 inches) which also benefits sporty on-road handling.

To further optimize active safety the BRABUS ML 63 is equipped with a high-performance brake system. 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers grip front discs measuring 380 x 36 mm (15.0 x 1.4 inches). The rear axle features six-piston fixed calipers and 360 x 28 mm (14.2 x 1.1 inches) discs. Together these components provide stopping power normally reserved for purebred sports cars.

The most powerful M-Class ever also features numerous exclusive interior highlights. Stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo and an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel are part of the package as is an exclusive BRABUS fully leather interior made from a perfectly finished combination of the finest Mastik and Alcantara leathers.

Sporty BRABUS ‘Checkered Flag’ carbon-fiber components for the interior are another BRABUS innovation. They have a carbon-fiber surface structure made to look like a checkered flag used as the finish flag in motorsports. The front seats can be fitted with custom rear consoles that encompass the headrests. They each house a seven-inch LCD screen with 16:9 aspect ratio and integrated DVD player. These consoles are also available in a version that features a power-folding precious-wood table.

BRABUS G V12 S Biturbo: The world’s most powerful off-roader comes from BRABUS. It is built by hand based on the latest Mercedes G-Class. The exclusive five-door is powered by a BRABUS SV12 S displacement engine. Like all special models of BRABUS – recognized by the German Vehicle Registration Agency as a vehicle manufacturer – the BRABUS G V12 S Biturbo comes with a comprehensive luxury package. The ultra-powerful 4×4 starts at 379,000 Euros.

The BRABUS SV12 S engine is based on the V12 Biturbo engine from the latest Mercedes S 600. Before being implanted in the engine bay of the G-Class, displacement of the three-valve engine is increased from 5.5 to 6.3 liters (336 to 384 cubic inches) using a special crankshaft with longer stroke, larger cylinders and larger bore. In addition, the cylinder heads are re-machined and fitted with special camshafts.

The engine peripherals were upgraded with larger turbochargers, an optimized intercooling system and a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts. The exahust was custom-developed for the G-Class and features dual chrome-plated tailpipes that exit in front of the rear wheels on the left and right side. New precision mapping for the engine electronics coordinate the perfect interaction of all new components. The results are an exemplary smooth-running engine and maximum power yield while meeting the strict limits set by the EURO IV emission norm.

In the G-Class the BRABUS S V12 S displacement engine produces 700 hp (690 bhp) / 515 kW at 5,100 rpm. The turbocharged twelve-cylinder engine delivers its peak torque of 1,320 Nm (973 lb-ft) at 2,100 rpm. In the car, the peak torque is electronically limited to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).

The BRABUS G V12 S Biturbo offers acceleration performance almost unimaginable for a true off-roader: Combined with a special five-speed automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive the exclusive SUV catapults itself from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.3 seconds. Top speed is limited electronically to 240 km/h (150 mph). Without the self-imposed limit the high-tech G-Class model could reach 260 km/h (163 mph).

This superior performance necessitates the use of custom-tailored BRABUS Monoblock wheels. Below the subtle fender flares is room for Monoblock light-alloy wheels with diameters between 20 and 22 inches, mounted with high-performance tires from Pirelli or YOKOHAMA. The forged BRABUS Monoblock VI 10.5Jx21 light-alloys are shod with size 295/40 R 21 tires front and back. BRABUS offers a wide selection of ten-inch wide wheels in the five different Monoblock VI, E, G, Q and S designs with a diameter of 22 inches.

For optimal handling BRABUS equips the special model G V12 S Biturbo with a comfortable custom suspension. To keep the incredible performance safely in check at all times the BRABUS high-performance brake system comes standard.

The body of the BRABUS G V12 S Biturbo is distinguished by sporty yet elegant aerodynamic-enhancement components. The BRABUS front apron with its LED daytime running lights below the main headlights lends the 4×4 an even more striking face. The rear is customized with the BRABUS rear bumper.

The BRABUS designers have developed special caps for the standard running boards of the Mercedes G-Class. They add some visual pizzazz to the G-Class and for added practicality feature integrated LED lights activated by the key fob or by opening a door. They illuminate the running boards in the dark.

The custom interior of the BRABUS G V12 S Biturbo is highly exclusive as well: It includes an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel, a speedometer with 280-km/h scale (175 mph), stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo and a handcrafted BRABUS fully leather interior made from especially soft and breathable BRABUS Mastik leather.

Upon customer request BRABUS transforms the SUV into fully functional all-terrain office on wheels or can integrate a custom-tailored high-tech multimedia system with state-of-the-art communication technology, DVD changer, DVBT TV tuner, game console and eight-inch LCD screens in the back of the front headrests. The sound in the rear compartment is reproduced by infrared headphones.

Here a little SLR, there a little AMG, and, of course, lots of KICHERER – these are the ingredients for the most recent KICHERER tuning achievement which is based on the “old” Mercedes SL (Basis SL R230). The highlights: extendable rear wing, carbon fibre front apron and handmade forged wheels.

Those who do not yet wish to allow themselves a new Mercedes SL or SL 63 AMG may now have their “old” SL upgraded by car tuner KICHERER.

Apart from the handmade forged wheels and further sports extras, the car tuning specialists offer a carbon fibre front apron and a carbon fibre rear lid. As is the case with big brother SLR, the chief attraction at the rear is an extendable wing.

In order to enhance the classic SL model’s good looks, aerodynamic components made of genuine carbon fibre have been added, further stressing the SL’s racy character. The front apron has a particularly eye-catching design and pre vents excessive lift forces. Further lateral air intakes have been added to provide the engine with sufficient quantities of fresh air while the rear diffuser brings the aerodynamic modifications to perfection.

But, the highlight par excellence is the rear lid. It is a patented carbon construction (KICHERER Downforce System) including an electronically extendable rear wing. Its control is speed-dependent and, thus, assures an optimal contact pressure at the rear axle. The complete system is available for all SL R230 models – model upgrading included.

The SL by KICHERER is carried away on RS-1 forged wheels. The handmade three-part lightweight constructions are rotary forged and equipped with stainless steel exterior wheel discs. The programming of the ABC suspension lowers the vehicle up to 25 millimetres for better handling and much more driving pleasure.
